Get your voice heard…..

The Welsh Government is currently developing an International Strategy for Wales and has issued a public survey to ask for views on this.

If you want to show your support for the Wales for Africa programme, and want to see the Welsh Government continue to support the programme as part of its international work, please respond to the survey.  The deadline for responding is 15 April 2019.

The question which is most likely to affect the work you do is on the Welsh Government’s Wales for Africa Programme: (8) How should we further develop our Wales for Africa programme? The priority of international development within the new strategy is also queried in question (3). Hub Cymru Africa and Fair Trade Wales has recently participated in a network representatives discussion, led by the Welsh Centre for International Affairs and Learned Society of Wales – who will be sending a joint response to the Welsh Government. In addition, Hub Cymru Africa is also intending to submit its own response through the partnership Board.

We would like to hear your views and will therefore be hosting two webinars/online meetings on the dates listed below. If you have specific views about this strategy, we encourage you to send in your own separate responses to the survey. And if you can’t join either of these webinars but want to send comments to Hub Cymru Africa, please email them to: advice@hubcymruafrica.org.uk

Instructions for joining the webinar:
Both webinars will be the same, so you only need to participate in one. You can either join online (you would need a reliable internet connection, and a computer that has active audio/speaker and microphone settings, so that you can hear and speak), or you can dial in by phone. You do not necessarily have to stay in the webinar for the whole time – you can drop in and drop out as you wish. Details are below.

  • When joining online, the FreeConferenceCall website will appear. Just click on the big green button that says: ‘Join online meeting’. You will be asked to enter your name and email, then click the green button ‘Join’. Click on the phone symbol button, then the Mic & Speakers button, if using your computer.
  • If you are joining by phone, dial the phone number (UK number – charged at a local rate): 0330 088 1927. You will just be asked to say your name and then you will be joined into the meeting. You will be able to hear but not see our presenter’s screen.

We will start by showing a simple document on screen (for those coming in online) and we will make a very short presentation. We will then open up for discussion and your comments and thoughts.
