Become A Fairtrade School

Become A Fairtrade School

The Fairtrade Schools Award is about learning, fun and action. It involves the whole school community and puts young people at the centre of the activities.

The scheme has three levels -

  • FairAward – Register, complete the learner and teachers audits and a Learning Challenge, and your school will be ready to get its FairAware Award.
  • FairActive – Take on two more Challenges with help from your school’s Fairtrade Steering Group and your school will be working towards its FairActive Award.
  • Fair Achiever – Do three more Challenges, and adopt a Fairtrade policy along with further learning activities, and your school will be getting ready for its final stage – assessment for the FairAchiever Award. This Award is the equivalent of the old Fairtrade Schools Award.

The first 2 levels are self assessed via the website. The third level, FairAchiever, is assessed electronically by an trained volunteer assessor.
